More Democrats from outside Minnesota found in alleged Vance Boelter target list
A growing number of Democratic lawmakers from across the Midwest are revealing they were named on the alleged target list of Vance Boelter, the suspect in the shooting of two Minnesota state lawmakers and their spouses. Why it matters: The shooting has sent chills through Congress, with one House Democrat even cancelling a town hall event that was scheduled for Monday because she was named in the list.Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wisc.) told Axios he was informed by the Capitol Police that his name appeared on another list found in Boelter's car.Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc.) "was informed by law enforcement that she was included on the alleged shooter's list of names," her spokesperson told Axios in a statement.Rep. Greg Landsman (D-Ohio) said in a statement that the Capitol Police contacted his office Sunday morning to say his name was found "among the evidence collected during the search" for Boelter.State of play: Boelter was apprehended by law enforcement late Sunday and is facing federal murder, stalking and firearms charges.Rep. Hillary Scholten (D-Mich.) said she was canceling her town hall "out of an abundance of caution and to not divert additional law enforcement resources away from protecting the broader public."Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.) was named in Boelter's list but plans to go ahead with her Monday town hall, her office told Axios.Pocan also told Axios "we haven't canceled anything."Zoom in: Those names are in addition to the dozens of prominent Minnesota Democrats and pro-abortion advocates law enforcement have said were found on Boelter's list. They include Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Angie Craig (D-Minn.) and Sen. Tina Smith (D-Minn.).Rep. Kelly Morrison (D-Minn.) "was named on Vance Boelter's list," her spokesperson told Axios, adding that they are "coordinating with U.S. Capitol Police on appropriate security measures."
