UN Reports Approximately 8,000 Migrant Deaths or Disappearances in 2025
The IOM reports that around 8,000 individuals died or went missing on migration routes in 2025, urging countries to collaborate against human trafficking and smuggling. As of mid-September, at least 2,292 people have already been reported lost this year.
