Floridas Gouverneur Ron DeSantis zog William Lee Thompsons Hinrichtungsanordnung zurück und stoppte damit dessen geplante Hinrichtung durch die Giftspritze. Es war das erste Mal, dass DeSantis als Gouverneur eine Hinrichtungsanordnung zurückzog.
