15 Unmissable New TV Shows, Films And Music Still To Come In 2025

15 Unmissable New TV Shows, Films And Music Still To Come In 2025
A selection of what we still have to look forward to from TV, film, music and beyond in 2025In a year that has already given us a Beyoncé stadium tour, a new Bridget Jones movie and a gripping trip back to The White Lotus resort, it’s hard to believe that some of the best of entertainment in 2025 is still yet to come. From Billie Eilish hitting UK shores again and the long-awaited Oasis reunion, to Wicked part two and the final season of Stranger Things, the second half of the year is about to send pop culture fans into overdrive. Here are our highlights of things to look forward to on the rest of the 2025 entertainment calendar… 1. You gotta roll with it… Oasis are finally back! After 15 years of the Gallagher brothers bitterly feuding, there were many, many times when it looked like an Oasis reunion would never happen. That was, until they announced their long-awaited reunion tour last year, declaring: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over.”Liam and Noel will be performing at stadiums across the UK and Ireland throughout July – including five hometown shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park – which is set to make for some biblical music moments of the summer.Return to Nevermore for Wednesday season twoAfter becoming third Netflix’s most watched English-language series ever and making an even bigger star of its lead Jenna Ortega, fans were thrilled to hear Wednesday would be returning for a second season (especially following speculation that it would be leaving Netflix).Showrunners and executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar told Netflix’s Tudum that the next season is “darker and more complex” as Wednesday “navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries, propelling her headlong into another year at Nevermore”.We can also expect to meet some new characters this season, including Steve Buscemi joining as Principal Dort, Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Hester Frump and even Lady Gaga (!!) in a guest role. The season will be split into two parts, the first of which will arrive on 6 August, followed by the second a month later, on 3 September.Embark on one final adventure into the Upside Down with the final season of Stranger ThingsIt’s hard to believe Stranger Things has been a part of our lives for almost a decade now.The fantasy adventure show has taken us on quite a wild ride over the course of four seasons, but it’s finally set to come to an end with the fifth and final outing. “Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna,” the official Netflix synopsis reads. The final episodes are no doubt set to be more epic than the last season – which were practically full-length movies, with the finale of season four clocking in at two hours and 22 minutes.Four episodes of the final season are set to arrive on 26 November, followed by three more on Christmas Day, while the finale will drop on New Year’s Eve.Sabrina Carpenter has more Espresso for us to sip on her new album Man’s Best FriendIf the controversy surrounding the album cover is anything to go by, plenty of people are going to be talking about Sabrina Carpenter’s new album this summer.Just over a year since Short N’ Sweet came out and sent the Juno singer’s star power into overdrive, fans are going to be spoiled with a whole new record to become obsessed with (and promptly make our entire personalities). So far we’ve had a Taste (pun intended!) of the new album with the chart-topping Manchild, ahead of the album’s full release on 29 August.Get ready to feel it all at Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard And Soft tourMore than a year since the album came out, we are finally ready to scream along with Billie Eilish once again on her Hit Me Hard And Soft tour. The US pop sensation is coming back to the UK and Ireland for an arena tour next month, which includes six nights at London’s O2 Arena.Songs like Birds Of A Feather, The Greatest and Lunch are no doubt going to sound incredible live (if we’re lucky enough to get all of them on the setlist), while we’re also fully ready to jump back into her When We All Go To Sleep… and Happier Than Ever eras elsewhere on the setlist.Emmys season looks set to be dominated by some impressive British namesWhile the 2025 Emmy nominations don’t come out until 15 July, it’s safe to assume that the Brits could well be dominating at this year’s awards. Thanks to the success of the powerful Netflix hit Adolescence, Aimee Lou Wood’s stateside breakout in The White Lotus and a thrilling season of Slow Horses, the upcoming Emmys (taking place on 14 September) could be a huge night of recognising British talent. At the same time, we’re likely going to see a lot of love for shows like The Last Of Us, Severance and The White Lotus. Speaking of… Slow Horses season five is comingGary Oldman’s hit TV drama based on Mick Herron’s espionage novels has proved to be a bit of a sleeper hit in recent years. Following a unit of failing MI5 agents as they continually prove their spy credentials against all the odds, critics praised season three as a hidden gem that was worth the AppleTV+ subscription alone.Last year, it was finally recognised with nine Primetime Emmy nominations, with creator and executive producer Will Smith (no, not that one) picking up Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.Season four continued its hot streak, with the fifth run due out on 24 September.Choose your loyalty in the Celebrity TraitorsLet’s be real, the four weeks that The Traitors is on TV are the absolute highlight of our year – and in the autumn, the BBC reality series, which pits Traitors and Faithfuls against one another with the aim of taking home a cash prize, will be launching its first UK celebrity version. The cast is looking pretty promising from Stephen Fry, Jonathan Ross, Tom Daley, Paloma Faith and many more.Consider us hooked already. The Fantastic Four: First Steps blasts onto our screensIf anything is going to reverse the trajectory Marvel has found itself on in recent years, it’s going to be Pedro Pascal making his superhero debut, right? Not only is he set to be joined by an impressive cast that includes Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Cross and Ebon Moss-Bachrach when the MCU reintroduces us to the Fantastic Four, the film itself looks so uniquely stylised that we’d actually be up for checking it out even if it weren’t led by the Last Of Us star as the aptly-named Mr Fantastic. The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits cinemas on Friday 25 July.Ari Aster is taking yet another big swing on EddingtonBut Fantastic Four isn’t the only Pedro Pascal vehicle we’re counting down the days till this summer. After blowing our minds with the deeply unsettling Hereditary, Midsommar and Beau Is Afraid, director Ari Aster is taking his work in a very different direction with his new film Eddington, which marks his first time helming a Western.Set at the height of the Covid pandemic in 2020, the film hones in on a divided small town in rural America at a time of global unrest, with Pedro appearing as Eddington’s town mayor opposite Joaquin Phoenix as the sheriff, with Emma Stone, Austin Butler and Micheal Ward also putting in appearances in a movie that baffled critics when it premiered at Cannes last month. Eddington arrives in UK cinemas on 22 August.Too Much Megan Stalter is never enoughGirls creator Lena Dunham is trying her hand at her first romantic comedy with the new Netflix series Too Much.Based on her own experiences of falling in love after a move across the pond, the show centres around Jessica, a New York workaholic who tries to reinvent herself after a devastating break-up with a move to London, where she immediately falls in love with someone new.The show is led by Hacks’ Megan Stalter and The White Lotus’ Will Sharpe, with all kinds of A-listers making cameos as exaggerated versions of themselves – and, to be frank, it just looks like a really good laugh. Check out all 10 episodes from 10 July on Netflix.Everybody wants more from our new favourite TV coupleNetflix is on something of a roll when it comes to TV rom-coms right now. While typically they can keep fans waiting for up to two years between seasons of their favourite shows, they decided to race ahead with the next instalments of Nobody Wants This, which is probably just as well, given the cliffhanger that Kristen Bell and Adam Brody’s characters left us on last time around.Nobody Wants This will be back in October, with Adam’s actual wife Leighton Meester joining the cast to shake things up even further.Zootropolis 2 has us wanting to Try Everything all over againIf Disney really is pivoting to only making sequels, we’re glad that at least it’s focussing its attention on overlooked modern classics like Zootropolis (yes, we know, but it’s not actually called Zooptopia in the UK for some class of licensing reason, even if that’s not what it’s listed as on Disney+).As well as Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman back as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, the franchise is welcoming some exciting new characters played by the likes of Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson, Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan and HuffPost fave Fortune Feimster. Can Shakira serve up something as immediately catchy as Try Everything again? There’s not long to find out, with the sequel coming in November.Kiss Of The Spider Woman looks set to deliver a hefty dose of camp towards the end of the yearIf ever you were looking for living proof that you can’t keep a good thing down, it’s the career of Jennifer Lopez.J-Lo has taken a few professional and personal knocks in the last few years, but she looks poised for a comeback of epic proportions in this new big-screen adaptation of the classic 90s Broadway musical. The Oscar nomination may have eluded her in 2020 for Hustlers, but you can never count Jennifer Lopez out…Wicked For Good is about to change us for… oh, never mindThe movie event of 2024 was the release of Wicked, with part two coming in November.Focussing on part two of the hit Broadway musical, the next part of the story jumps forward in time, exploring even darker and deeper themes than its predecessor as we pick up with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande’s characters long after the events of Defying Gravity. Not only do we have the stars’ rendition of the duet For Good and Cynthia’s version of No Good Deed to look forward to (plus her love duet with Jonathan Bailey, As Long As You’re Mine), there are also two new song written by Wicked’s original composer Stephen Schwartz. And can you imagine how chaotic the press tour is going to be this time around? Consider us seated.
