'Absolutely Mad': Kemi Badenoch Mocked After Letting Keir Starmer Off The Hook At PMQs
Kemi Badenoch at PMQsKemi Badenoch has been mocked on social media over her latest PMQs disaster after she failed to land a blow on Keir Starmer over Angela Rayner’s tax affairs. The Tory leader and prime minister faced off less than an hour after Rayner admitted to failing to pay enough stamp duty on a flat she bought in Hove four months ago.The deputy PM has referred herself to the ministerial sleaze watchdog and admitted to Sky News that she had considered resigning over the affair. But despite the story quickly dominating the political agenda at Westminster, Badenoch chose not to use all of her allotted six questions to put Starmer under pressure over the controversy.Although she mentioned it in passing at the start of her first question, she quickly moved on to the soaring cost of government debt and its implications for the economy.Badenoch did eventually call on the PM to sack his deputy, who is also housing secretary, but political observers said she had squandered a golden opportunity to put both Starmer and Rayner under serious pressure.Mail on Sunday columnist Dan Hodges said on X: “Kemi Badenoch hasn’t just missed an open goal. She’s missed the goal. She’s punched her manager. She’s then stormed into the stands and accosted the owner. She’s then charged out onto the street, torched the team bus, her kit, and set light to the entire stadium.”Kemi Badenoch hasn’t just missed an open goal. She’s missed the goal. Totally unacceptable. What’s the point?? #PMQshttps://t.co/KFpB0gGi05— Dr Chris Newton (@drchrisnewton) September 3, 2025In failing to ask more questions about Angela Rayner’s political future, I think Kemi Badenoch has reopened a fresh round of questions about hers— Henry Zeffman (@hzeffman) September 3, 2025Kemi Badenoch misses another open goal at PMQs She goes on the economy rather than Angela Rayner’s tax scandal.Absolutely mad. Labour sources open mouthed at the easy ride they are getting.— Kate Ferguson (@kateferguson4) September 3, 2025One senior Tory on Kemi Badenoch’s perplexing performance at #PMQs: ‘Another open goal missed. The deputy PM was there for the taking and she blew it! She will be gone long before Rayner’— Jason Groves (@JasonGroves1) September 3, 2025Quite amazing that Kemi Badenoch actually managed to lose that #PMQS.— Charlotte Henry 🎗️ (@charlotteahenry) September 3, 2025Related...Angela Rayner Has Admitted She Didn't Pay Enough Tax.
