'Be Quiet!': Trump Throws A Fit, Calls Reporter 'Darling' During Off-The-Rails Tirade
President Donald Trump on Sunday berated a reporter who asked about his repeated threats to send the military into Chicago.“Are you trying to go to war with Chicago?” asked NBC’s Yamiche Alcindor one day after the president threatened the city with the “Department of WAR” in a social media post.  “When you say that, darling, that’s fake news,” Trump fired back. When Alcindor tried to ask a follow-up, Trump lost it. “Listen. Be quiet. Listen,” he demanded. “You don’t listen. You never listen. That’s why you’re second-rate.”Illinois Gov @JBPritzker have accused Pres Trump of threatening to go to war w/ Chicago so I asked Trump if he was doing so. He said that was “fake news.” I followed up & asked why he was using the DoD & he replied “That’s not war. That’s common sense.”pic.twitter.com/OMSZv6IJgC— Yamiche Alcindor (@Yamiche) September 7, 2025Trump also denied he was at “war” with Chicago. “We’re not going to war. We’re gonna clean up our city. We’re gonna clean ’em up so they don’t kill five people every weekend,” he said. “That’s not war. That’s common sense.” Trump on Saturday posted an image of himself in a scene from “Apocalypse Now” with the phrase “Chipocalypse Now” over it and an image of the city’s skyline with military choppers behind him. “I love the smell of deportations in the morning,” Trump posted. “Chicago about to find out why it’s called the Department of WAR.” His critics called him out for berating Alcindor: The president of the United States calls a female reporter "darling" before telling her to "be quiet" and saying she "second rate". Totally normal stuff here in America in 2025. https://t.co/cue3mAGk8g— Mehdi Hasan (@mehdirhasan) September 7, 2025President Trump is intimidated by #BlackWomen. He has spent decades attacking and belittling Black women because he fears their strength. I stand with @Yamiche as she does he JOB for the American people and ask the tough questions https://t.co/qWk6b9Axwy— Rep. Jonathan L. Jackson (@rep_jackson) September 7, 2025Listen to the way he talks to this female reporter. Even if I knew nothing else about him, this one example would tell me everything I need to know about him. https://t.co/Zo00mdhbk8— John F. Clark (@JohnFredClark) September 7, 2025Silence of the Blondes. Three WH women stand there and smirk while Trump calls a female reporter “darling” and “second rate” for asking a logical Q when Trump made a war reference against a US city. Then the WH puts out an attack bragging about his bullying. WH women know their… https://t.co/3aHp7qKzYH— Barbara Comstock (@BarbaraComstock) September 7, 2025This is a tax-payer funded White House account boasting about the president throwing a fit when asked why he wrote yesterday that "Chicago is going to find out" why he calls the military the "Department of WAR" — and they gleefully invite online harassment by tagging the reporter https://t.co/l2A96JvTcp— Robert Mackey (@RobertMackey) September 7, 2025Yeah, I can see how that could be confusing 🫤 pic.twitter.com/hlkiNYHIm3— Jason 🇺🇸 (@thoughtproven) September 7, 2025Remember, kids.
