Emmys 2025: The White Lotus And The Bear Leave With No Awards

The cast of The White Lotus season threeThere were some surprises in store at this year’s Emmys, where both The Bear and The White Lotus came away empty-handed on Sunday night.Despite both shows having previously won multiple Emmys in past years, their most recent seasons were evidently loss popular with TV Academy members, who decide on the winners.Going into this year’s Emmys, The White Lotus had been leading the charge with 10 nominations in major categories, including acting nods for cast members Aimee Lou Wood, Carrie Coon, Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell, Sam Rockwell and Walton Goggins.However, it was Severance’s Tramell Tillman who wound up taking home the Best Supporting Actor In A Drama prize, while Katherine LaNasa triumphed over the White Lotus’ women for her work in The Pitt, which was also named Outstanding Drama Series.As for The Bear, which also won none of the six major awards it had been nominated for, Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri were beaten in their category by The Studio’s Seth Rogen and Jean Smart for Hacks, respectively.Ayo Edebiri and Jeremy Allen White in The BearMeanwhile Jeff Hiller won his first Emmy for Somebody Somewhere over two-time winner Ebon Moss-Bachrach, while Best Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series went to Hannah Einbinder for Hacks.It’s worth pointing out that The White Lotus did win one Emmy this year, albeit in a technical category, with Cristobal Tapia de Veer once again scooping Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music.After a very public falling out with White Lotus creator Mike White, Cristobal will not be returning for the show’s upcoming fourth season.Netflix’s hard-hitting drama Adolescence wound up being the top winner at this year’s Emmys, triumphing in all six of the categories it was nominated for.This included acting wins for cast members Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty and Owen Cooper, the latter of whom made history as the youngest male performer to win an Emmy.Apple TV+’s The Studio and HBO’s The Pitt also secured multiple wins, while Severance and Hacks picked up two each.READ MORE:23 Behind-The-Scenes Facts You Probably Didn't Know About How The White Lotus Season 3 Was MadeWhere Will The White Lotus Be Heading For Season 4?
