Florence Pugh Calls Out 'Abuse' Her Ex Zach Braff Faced Due To Their Age Gap

Florence PughFlorence Pugh is once again sticking up for her ex-boyfriend Zach Braff over the scrutiny their romance faced due to the two-decade age gap between them.The Oscar nominee and former Scrubs star were in a relationship for three years between 2019 and 2022, which raised plenty of eyebrows at the time as he was 21 years her senior.Despite the furore over their age gap, Florence has repeatedly defended her famous ex, most recently during an interview on The Louis Theroux Podcast, where she called out the “abuse” he faced when they were together.“With relationships and with romance in this world, it doesn’t matter how much you speak on it or how little you speak on it, people don’t care,” she lamented. “They want a story. They want a reality show. It doesn’t really matter how much you say you love someone or how much they make you happy. If they don’t like them, and it doesn’t fit that image that they want of you, they don’t care. And I think that hurt me.”Florence Pugh and Zach Braff in 2023, a year after their relationship endedFlorence said she reacted to this by “standing up” for the relationship, for Zach and “for me just being allowed to do whatever the fuck I wanted to do”.“That kind of did actually change a few people’s minds,” she continued. “And I had a few people in the public eye reach out to me and say, ‘I didn’t think of it like that, and thank you for saying that’.“And also since then I’ve got [more famous], I’ve become a different star. People will probably want to know a little bit more. I think you have to just ask yourself, the more you expose, the more you’re allowing people to comment on it. And if they don’t know, they can’t really comment on it.”She then insisted: “That being said, I’ll always defend people that I love, I will always stand up for them. I’ll always make sure that if there needs to be a reset and there needs to be a bit of a smack on the wrist, I will do that because it’s not fair that so much of your life gets to have jabs.”“It was an insane amount of abuse being hurled at my relationship just because there was an age gap,” she added, confirming she was discussing her romance with Zach. “It got to the point where it was just really horrible to see someone that you are with receiving that.”Throughout their time together – and, indeed, after their break-up – Florence repeatedly spoke out in defence of her famous ex.In 2020, she maintained: “I have the right to hang out and be with and go out with anyone I want to. I’ve always found this part of what people do really bizarre.
