'Hitler Of Our Time': Trump Is Loudly Protested As He's Dining Out In DC

A group of activists from CodePink, an anti-war group, protested against President Donald Trump while he was dining at a seafood restaurant in Washington, DC, on Tuesday, according to a video shared by the organization. Demonstrators called out Trump’s foreign policy stances and use of the National Guard in DC, yelling chants of “Trump is the Hitler of our time. Free DC! Free Palestine!” President Donald Trump speaks to reporters outside the restaurant Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 9, 2025.Activists first confronted Trump as he entered the restaurant’s dining room, and kept up their chants as he approached his table. “He’s terrorising communities in DC. He’s terrorising Gaza and communities all over the world,” one protester said. A group of women yelling these statements was seen exiting the restaurant around 7:40 pm Eastern and escorted across the street by law enforcement, according to a White House pool report. Trump’s Tuesday dinner at Joe’s Seafood is the first he’s had at a DC restaurant since getting sworn in this January, CNN reports.He touted it as an example of how allegedly effective his crackdown on crime in the city has been, even though data from OpenTable has found that his surge of law enforcement and National Guard has coincided with a decline in dining out in the district. “We have a safe city, so that’s good. Enjoy yourself. You won’t be mugged going home,” Trump reportedly told diners, according to CNN.Trump was joined at the dinner by administration officials, including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and reportedly received a warm welcome from some diners, who greeted him with applause. Earlier in the evening, Trump was met with boos and a smattering of cheers as he entered the restaurant, marking the second time this week that he’s been openly jeered in a public place.
