Labour Attack 'Privately-Educated Stockbroker' Nigel Farage As War Of Words Erupts
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage will make a major speech on Tueaday.Nigel Farage has been dubbed a “privately-educated stockbroker and career politician” as a war of words erupted between the Reform UK leader and Keir Starmer.Labour have also identified 10 occasions when they say the right-wing Brexiteer has “failed working people”.In a major speech on Tuesday, Farage is expected to label the prime minister “unpatriotic” and “out of touch” with ordinary voters. He will condemn the government’s decision to hand over the Chagos Islands to Mauritius and the deal with the European Union announced by Starmer last week.Farage will also pledge that a Reform UK government would re-instate the winter fuel payment to every pensioners and also lift the two-child benefit cap.The right-winger is also set to challenge Starmer “to go to a working man’s club in the north of England with him and see who connects better with working people”.But speaking ahead of Farage’s speech, Labour chair Ellie Reeves launched a personal attack on the Reform boss’s background. She said: “Nigel Farage, a privately-educated stockbroker and career politician, has only ever cared about his own self-interest and personal ambition, never about what is good for working people in this country.“Farage wants to abolish the NHS, praised Liz Truss’ disastrous mini-budget, opposed Labour’s landmark employment reforms and said Jaguar Land Rover, a huge employer, deserves to go bust.“His Reform manifesto included billions of pounds worth of unfunded spending pledges but did not commit to the triple lock. Farage must urgently clarify whether he will cut the state pension to pay for his reckless tax cuts.”Her comments come after deputy prime minister dubbed Farage a “snake oil salesman” at the weekend.Keir Starmer signalled last week that he was preparing to U-turn on the government’s decision to remove winter fuel payments from 10 million pensioners in the face of a furious backlash. However, he has not said when that will happen or how many old people will benefit. The prime minister is also understood to support lifting the two-child benefit cap, which prevents families from claiming Universal Credit if they have three or more children.Related...Nigel Farage Dubbed 'Snake Oil Salesman' Over Reform UK's New Welfare PromisesStarmer's Jibe At Farage's PMQs Absence Is So Good, Even Reform UK MPs Were LaughingIs Keir Starmer Waving Goodbye To Millions Of Voters By Chasing Nigel Farage?
