Nigel Farage Snaps At Journalist After Being Asked To Explain A Key Reform Policy

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.Nigel Farage snapped at a TV journalist after being asked to explain a key Reform UK policy. He told Sky News deputy political editor Sam Coates “you can play whatever silly games you want” as he dodged the question on immigration.Farage was responding to Keir Starmer unveiling the government’s plans to slash the number of people coming to the UK from abroad.Reform UK have said they will freeze “non-essential” immigration if they win power at the next election, due in 2029.However, they would offer an “exception” to those who are deemed to have “essential” skills, such as in healthcare. Coates asked Farage if he would cap the number of immigrants allowed to come in on that basis. He replied: “By the time of the next election? We will. I can’t tell you the numbers right now, I don’t have all the figures.“But what I can tell you is anyone who comes in will not be allowed to stay long term. That’s the difference.”Coates then said: “So you are committing to a cap on the numbers of people.”But Farage interrupted him to say: “Ask me in four years’ time. You can play whatever silly games you want right now.“The fact is there is nothing that has been said today that I think is genuinely going to be followed through with vigour and lead to levels of immigration going back to historic levels.”Farage insists the gov't must put a cap on immigration. But when asked to define his own cap... "I don't know the numbers. Ask me in four years' time. You can play whatever silly games you want." ~AA pic.twitter.com/xopNx8M1a3— Best for Britain (@BestForBritain) May 12, 2025Related...Analysis: Keir Starmer's Credibility Problem On Immigration Means He Can't Out-Farage Farage'Incredibly Depressing': Starmer Dubbed 'A Pound Shop Farage' Over Immigration CrackdownRichard Tice Collides With Sky Presenter Over Farage's Views On Russia In Car Crash Interview
