Pedro Pascal’s Stylist Exits After Claiming She Received Death Threats Over One Of His Outfits
Stylist Julia Ragolia, who helped rebrand Pedro Pascal as a modern-day men’s fashion icon, says she and the “Last of Us” actor have parted ways. Ragolia broke the news in an email to GQ, segments of which appeared in a short feature about her work published last week.“I’m a storyteller, so I told a story about how men of a certain age can still be seen as sexy. After Cannes was a good time to part ways,” she wrote. Branded by Esquire as a “menswear mastermind,” Ragolia didn’t offer specific details about her decision.Pedro Pascal (left, with Sigourney Weaver) drew criticism for this Julia Ragolia-styled outfit, worn at a "Star Wars" event in Japan. Still, the Brooklyn, New York, native has in recent weeks spoken out against backlash she says she’s received from fans as Pascal’s Hollywood profile has risen and, with it, the boldness of his red carpet ensembles. “One of you called for my death because you didn’t like Pedro’s outfit,” she wrote on X, formerly Twitter, in April, days after Pascal appeared at a “Star Wars” event in Japan in a pair of Acne Studios-designed shorts paired with brown knee-high boots. “I’m not even going to comment on individual taste or one’s personal preferences. I’m just going to let you sit with your obsession.”One of you called for my death because you didn’t like Pedro’s outfit. I’m not even going to comment on individual taste or one’s personal preferences. I’m just going to let you sit with your obsession.— Julie Ragolia (@julieragolia) April 20, 2025In a follow-up post, she added: “Pedro is a grown adult with his own opinions on what he likes and what feels good to him. Stylists are not dictators. We are collaborators. Thank you for actually asking how the process works.” Pedro is a grown adult with his own opinions on what he likes and what feels good to him. Stylists are not dictators. We are collaborators. Thank you for actually asking how the process works.— Julie Ragolia (@julieragolia) April 20, 2025Of course, Ragolia – whose clients have included actors Riz Ahmed and LaKeith Stanfield – has often displayed a sense of humour about her work, too. When Bustle joked about Pascal’s “slutty little boots,” pointing to his thigh-baring ensembles at the 2023 Met Gala and other events, the stylist happily took credit for the provocative footwear.“Hi, I’m Julie, slutty boot pusher since 2023,” she quipped on X."Hi, I’m Julie, slutty boot pusher since 2023," Ragolia has quipped of her work with Pascal, seen here at the 2023 Met Gala. In the wake of Ragolia’s departure, Pascal has been working with Los Angeles-based stylist Jamie Mizrahi, who also dressed his “Materialists” co-star, Dakota Johnson, along with Adele and Jeremy Allen White, among other celebrities. No doubt fans will be seeing more of Mizrahi’s handiwork on the red carpet in weeks to come, with Pascal returning to the big screen in “Eddington” and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” this month. He’ll also be seen in “The Mandalorian and Grogu” and “Avengers: Doomsday,” both due for release next year. Related...Rachel Zegler Shares Pedro Pascal’s Dramatic Reaction To Seeing Her Perform In EvitaBella Ramsey Has Some Strong Feelings About You Calling Pedro Pascal 'Daddy'Pedro Pascal Reflects On JK Rowling 'Heinous Loser' Comments
