Robbie Williams Reveals Where His Relationship With Oasis Stands Now
Robbie WilliamsRobbie Williams has clarified where his relationship with the Gallagher brothers stands following the recent Oasis reunion. The Angels singer’s feud with Liam and Noel Gallagher is well-documented, with the trio initially having a friendly relationship when Robbie spent time with the brothers at Glastonbury after leaving Take That in the mid-1990s.However, things quickly soured when the Oasis musicians began insulting Robbie in the press, culminating in him challenging Liam to a fight at the Brit Awards (Liam also later began dating Robbie’s ex, Nicole Appleton, with whom he had a child). In 2022, Robbie called Oasis “bullies”, which Liam refuted, with the Brit Award winner being asked about the band again during a recent interview with ITV News.Liam and Noel Gallagher on stage with Oasis last month“We’re not exactly friends, but I don’t think we’re enemies,” Robbie said, adding that he’d be willing to be an opening act for them on their current stadium tour if the offer were to come in.“In this moment that they’re having right now they are omnipresent and they are at the peak zeitgeist,” he added. “I can’t compete with that. So I would open for Oasis.”Robbie’s next album Britpop is released in October, with the singer insisting he already had the title chosen before the recent resurgence of acts like Oasis, Blur and Pulp.“It’s coming out at exactly in the right time that it should be coming out,” he said of his next release. “Oasis are back, Blur have done their gigs, Supergrass are about, Pulp are about.”He previously said of his new music: “I set out to create the album that I wanted to write and release after I left Take That in 1995. It was the peak of Britpop and a golden age for British Music.“The new record is raw, there are more guitars and it’s even more upbeat and anthemic than usual. I’m immensely proud of this as a body of work and I’m excited for fans to hear this album.”MORE MUSIC NEWS:Noel Gallagher Makes Very Surprising Admission About Brother Liam Amid Oasis Tour'Good For You, Hun': Jade Thirlwall Takes Aim At Matty Healy For Shying Away From PoliticsThis Is Why Taylor Swift Fans Are Now Convinced She's Performing At The Super Bowl Next Year
