Sarah Jessica Parker’s ‘Intense’ Hobby Is Making People Question How She’s Even Doing It

Sarah Jessica Parker at the 2025 PEN America Literary Gala earlier this monthSarah Jessica Parker’s fans couldn’t help but wonder — is she AI?The And Just Like That star made a pretty jaw-dropping claim to Page Six last week at the PEN America Literary Gala.When the outlet asked her how many books she reads a week, or in a month, Sarah Jessica had quite a response.“Well, now, I’m judging the Booker, so I’m reading two books a day sometimes,” she said.It was announced late last year that the Emmy winner — who launched SJP Lit, her own literary imprint in 2023 — will be a judge for the 2025 Booker Prize.SJP will serve on the judging panel for the prestigious British literary award alongside authors Ayòbámi Adébáyò, Kiley Reid and Chris Power. Roddy Doyle, an Irish novelist who won the prize in 1993, will chair the jury, per the New York Times.“It’s intense to be reading [that number of books],” Sarah Jessica told Page Six. “The volume is kind of hard to convey, what it’s like to have as many books we are given the opportunity to read in a month … it’s quite something.”SJP added to the outlet that she currently reads “morning to night, any opportunity that exists, I’m reading”.SJP reading Sally Rooney’s Intermezzo on the set of And Just Like That last year.When one of SJP quotes about her current reading habits made its way onto X, many users weren’t buying her story.“Me when i lie,” said one user, while another offered: “They must be audiobooks or really short books cause how do you even have that much time?”“Not physically or mathematically possible but sure,” echoed another.“Me with my 12 book reading goal on Goodreads,” one user joked.“I could read this fast, but I wouldn’t remember shit I read afterwards though, would have plots mixed up and shit LMFAO,” admitted another user.SJP walking around New York City in 2013 with The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt in tow.Yet, some bookworms believed the Sex And The City alum’s claim, considering she’s a judge for such an important literary award.“It’s very possible. I’m a librarian and we have to do this on a fairly regular basis. We also have to take notes on content, audience, themes, etc,” one user pointed out. “I read 2-3 books a week as a part time hobby. When we do 12 hour readathons at our house, I can read 2-3 books in that time frame. Super doable. How do you think editors and publishers get through all their submissions,” said another user.“Why are people saying she is lying?
