Trump Brags About Shielding Putin, And It’s Not Going Over Well On Social Media

Donald Trump may have intended to criticise Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday for “playing with fire,” but many people on social media thought it read more like a confession.The president took to his Truth Social media platform to declare that Putin “doesn’t realise that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD.”Trump added that, as a result, the Russian leader is “playing with fire!”Although it wasn’t clear if Trump was referring to imposing harsher sanctions against Russia because of its ongoing invasion of Ukraine, the post came days after the president criticised Putin for his recent drone and missile attacks on Ukrainian civilians.
