'We Aren't Going To Allow It': Trump Gives Putin 2 Weeks To Act On Ukraine War With Stern Warning
US President Donald Trump has given Vladimir Putin a fortnight to act on the Ukraine war.Donald Trump has given Vladimir Putin a two-week deadline to act on his war in Ukraine or the US “will respond a little differently”.The American president has been pushing both Kyiv and Moscow to the negotiating table to try and end the three-year conflict quickly – even if that means Ukraine has to give up occupied land to its Russian aggressors.Trump even promised to resolve the war on his first day back in office, but five months later, the conflict rages on.While Ukraine has agreed to various unconditional ceasefires and face-to-face negotiations, Russia has been dragging its heels. So the US president told reporters on Wednesday that it was time for action.“We’ll find out whether or not he’s tapping us along or not and if he is, we’ll respond a little bit differently but it will take about a week and a half to two weeks,” the US president said.“Them [Russia] seem to want to do something, but until the document is signed, I can’t tell you. Nobody can.”It’s the latest example of just how Trump has cooled on Putin recently.Having called Putin’s invasion of Ukraine “savvy” and “genius” in 2022, Trump often expressed his sympathy for Moscow’s invasion once he returned to the White House in January.Trump has even described Putin as his friend, but his frustration over the war has clearly been growing in recent weeks. After a huge missile assault on Ukraine, the US president called Putin “CRAZY” and then claimed he was “playing with fire”.As he told reporters in the White House last night: “I’m very disappointed at what happened a couple of nights now, where people were killed, in the middle of what you would call a negotiation.”He later noted: “When I see rockets being shot into cities, that’s no good. We aren’t going to allow it.”But the US president’s warnings have still not been accompanied by further sanctions. He claimed: “If I think I’m close to getting a deal, I don’t want to screw it up by doing that, let me tell you, I’m a lot of tougher than the people you’re talking about, but you have to know when to use that.“If I think it’s going to hurt a deal – this isn’t my war, this is Biden’s war, Zelenskyy’s war, Putin’s war. This isn’t Trump’s war.”Hundreds of thousands of soldiers have been killed on both sides of the conflict since Putin invaded in a land grab.Ukraine estimates Russia is approach a million casualties.Meanwhile, the UN concluded this week that Russia has been systematically committing war crimes against civilians in Ukraine’s Kherson region.Related...Elon Musk Is Leaving The Trump Administration After Just 5 Months'Huge Mistake': Trump Envoy Sends Strong Warning To Putin About Ukraine Peace NegotiationsTrump Brags About Shielding Putin, And It’s Not Going Over Well On Social Media
