KPop Demon Hunters' central girl band HUNTR/XDespite being released on Netflix six weeks ago, plenty of people are only just getting clued-up about the runaway success that the film KPop Demon Hunters has turned out to be.As the title suggests, the animated musical focusses on HUNTR/X a K-pop girl group who also happen to be protect the world from demons when they’re outside of the spotlight. However, HUNTR/X quickly meet their match in the Saja Boys, a new K-pop boyband who take the world by storm (and just happen to secretly be demons, intent on taking their female counterparts out).Since it began streaming at the end of June, KPop Demon Hunters has won acclaim from both critics and viewers, smashed the record to become the most-watched animated original in Netflix’s history and even topped the UK singles chart with a stand-out song from its soundtrack. At the time of writing, the movie is still the fourth most-watched on Netflix UK right now, with some commentators comparing KPop Demon Hunter’s success for the streaming giant to how Frozen helped revitalise Disney more than a decade ago.The film industry being what it is in 2025, this naturally means fans have begun speculating about whether KPop Demon Hunters could become a franchise. I think there are a lot of pockets that we can explore.”Meanwhile, a subsequent piece published in TheWrap claimed that Netflix exes are already eyeing two sequels. However, it’s worth noting that none of this has actually been confirmed by Netflix yet, although we’ll be sure to keep you updated as soon as there’s more official news. What else is being considered for the future of the KPop Demon Hunters brand? The Saja Boys as seen in KPop Demon HuntersRemember when we mentioned that KPop Demon Hunters’ success is being compared to Frozen?
