Banco Santander Reports 31% Profit Increase to 8.97 Billion Euros in H1

Banco Santander's first-half net profit rose 31% to 8.97 billion euros, driven by the sale of its Polish business. Excluding extraordinary items, profit increased 15% to 7.33 billion euros. The acquisition of TSB in the UK also contributed.
