Trump says he'll honor "patriot" Giuliani with Presidential Medal of Freedom

President Trump said Monday he'll award Rudy Giuliani a Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor.The big picture: The announcement comes two days after the former Trump lawyer and New York City mayor was involved in a car crash that left him hospitalized injuries including a fractured vertebra.He was released on Monday afternoon, per the New York Times.Driving the news: Trump called Giuliani "the greatest Mayor in the history of New York City, and an equally great American Patriot" in announcing his medal plans on Truth Social.
