BBC Dismisses Popular Celebrity Traitors Fan Theory
The Celebrity Traitors has become one of 2025's most talked-about showsThis article contains spoilers for the most recent episode of The Celebrity Traitors. While the stars of The Celebrity Traitors are currently still clutching at straws in the hopes of sending home anyone who isn’t a “Faithful”, viewers are similarly on tenterhooks to try and work out who’s next on the chopping block. In their quest to seek out the truth, some fans of the Bafta-winning reality show think they might have worked out a code hinting at the cast’s fate. And it all had to do with the celebrities’ official press pictures for the show.Previously outlined by The Standard and The Mirror, the theory pointed out that all three of the Traitors’ official portraits – released before the series started – depicted their pictures above a skull ornament.Notice that Alan Carr, Cat Burns and Jonathan Ross' portraits all appear above a skull ornamentMeanwhile, the portraits of those who have been either banished or “murdered” so far on the current series could be seen alongside an unusual fish ornament.Seven celebrities have so far been either banished or "murdered" from The Celebrity Traitors – with either Mark Bonnar or David Olusoga the next to goAs for the remaining “Faithfuls”, some – namely Kate Garraway, Stephen Fry and Nick Mohammed – were seen next to the same skull as Alan Carr, Cat Burns and Jonathan Ross, prompting rumours that they could be recruited to the “Traitors” side in the second half of the series. The same skull from Alan, Cat and Jonathan's pictures was seen next to portraits of Stephen Fry, Kate Garraway and Nick MohammedIntriguing though it might be, the BBC has now insisted there’s no truth to this speculation, writing it off as simply a “fan theory”.Wednesday’s instalment of The Celebrity Traitors ended on a massive cliffhanger, as Mark Bonnar and David Olusoga’s fates both hung in the balance. In a first for the show, the group was unable to reach a consensus after two consecutive roundtable votes, with Claudia Winkleman revealing that either Mark or David will be banished next, but which of them goes will be left up to chance. What the group, of course, don’t know is that both the Line Of Duty star and historian are members of the “Faithful” camp, meaning the three “Traitors” who’ve been in the game since the beginning remain at large, and will murder again in Thursday’s episode. The Celebrity Traitors will continue on Thursday night at 9pm on BBC One.MORE TRAITORS:Here's Everything We Know About That Celebrity Traitors Round Table TiebreakThe Latest Celebrity Traitors Round Table Had Everyone Shouting The Same Thing At The TVCelebrity Traitors Star Opens Up About Unseen Alan Carr Moments Viewers Are Missing Out On
