Gavin Newsom Calls Donald Trump A ‘Son Of A Bitch’ In Blistering Interview
California Governor Gavin Newsom didn’t hold back when asked about his views on President Donald Trump, unleashing a slew of criticism during a recent appearance on the “Shawn Ryan Show” Monday.During the conversation, the governor reflected on his love for California, but the conversation quickly turned pointed. Newsom accused Trump of treating Los Angeles as if it were “under siege” and said he was “trying to wreck” the state in reference to the controversial deployment of thousands of National Guard troops, a move tied to the federal government’s immigration crackdowns.Newsom emphasised that California doesn’t require military force to maintain order, pointing to the state’s “robust” law enforcement infrastructure. He then described the deployment in stark terms.California Governor Gavin Newsom and Donald Trump“They’re sitting there on horses with American flags, running through soccer fields, scaring kids that are playing soccer in the middle of the day at a summer camp. For what? Just toughness,” he said.“It’s weakness masquerading as strength. That’s what I don’t like about this son of a bitch. I don’t,” Newsom said. “Forgive me, I know he’s the president of the United States.”Newsom also spoke about the personal toll of his political feud with Trump, saying the president frequently refers to him as “Newscum,” a smear that’s affected his children’s lives.“How do I explain that to my kid?” he asked. “I have my kids’ friends calling my kids ‘Newscum.’ That I get because I was called that in seventh grade, but not by a 79-year-old.” With frustration, he then implored Trump to “model better goddamn behaviour, man”   When asked whether the tension between them had subsided, Newsom offered a blunt assessment.“It will be resolved when [Trump] doesn’t get any attention,” he stated.
