John Whaite Accuses Waitrose Of Ditching His Recipes Due To His OnlyFans Work
John Whaite on Lorraine in August 2023Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite has accused Waitrose of removing his recipes from its website due to his work on OnlyFans.Back in January, John began posting sexual content on the pay-per-view website, which has become largely synonymous with sex work and pornography in recent years. In an Instagram story post over the weekend, the former Strictly Come Dancing finalist explained: “It seems Waitrose have diverted all my recipe links to similar recipes by other people – my work history with them ostensibly expunged. My catalogue of YouTube videos with them has also disappeared. It’s like I never existed.“No one at Waitrose informed me or told me why… I can only guess that it’s because I do OnlyFans. So I’m sorry if you wanted to use one of my recipes and now cannot.”John added: “I get my [OnlyFans] work doesn’t align with their brand, and I would have accepted that had they treated me with an ounce of human respect, but to wipe out an entire collection of very hard work without any notice or chance to save the recipes first is an insult.”View this post on InstagramA post shared by John Whaite (@john_whaite)A spokesperson for Waitrose subsequently told The Sun: “We regularly review recipes on our site and we are constantly updating and refreshing. We are very grateful for the work John has done for us.”Sharing an update on Monday evening, John told his Instagram followers: “I’m pleased to report Waitrose have seemingly removed the URLs and SEO containing my trademark, and so I’m happy to move on and wish them all the best.”Looking ahead to his upcoming venture – a bakery called the Ruff Puff Bakehouse, which is due to open over the summer – he quipped: “If any of the Waitrose team fancy a vanilla slice at my new bakery [...] when it opens, it’s on me. Just tell the code ‘PreferAldiAnyway’ to your server at checkout (I’m kidding – no freebies).”John first rose to fame on the third series of Bake Off in 2012, going on to win the show. After continuing his media career as a TV chef and baker, he competed on Strictly in 2021, making it to the final alongside his professional partner Johannes Radebe, a first for a same-sex pairing on the show.He first ventured into OnlyFans in 2022, sharing what he described at the time as “cheekier” content based around fitness. After a few months, he deleted his profile, later telling Attitude he didn’t feel his presence on the site “align[ed] with who I was on television”, claiming that he “deeply” regretted signing up at all.In February, he revealed he’d left the TV industry “to focus on business”.“Now I run two fairly successful and exciting businesses. One sells brownies and cookies while the other is a meatier enterprise…” he joked.READ MORE:Sopranos Star Drea De Matteo Says OnlyFans ‘Saved’ Her LifeLily Allen Reveals She's 'Dipping Her Toes' Into The World Of OnlyFansWedgies and Walkaways: Inside The Kinky Rise Of OnlyFans Porn
