Kids Are Now Saying '41' (And It's Basically The New 'Six-Seven')
Hot off the heels of everything being 6/7, Gen Alpha are swiftly moving onto a new numerical meme: and it’s all about 41.In a bid to keep parents (and anyone who speaks to kids on a daily basis) updated on what on earth they’re talking about, we’ve already covered off Ballerina Cappuccina, why everything is “chopped” and why kids keep calling each other “chat”.We even tried to explain what “six-seven” meant. In short, it means “so-so” (well, sometimes anyway). While six-seven appears to have stemmed from the drill rap Doot Doot (6 7) by Skrilla, 41 also comes from a song which has recently been trending on social media. In one of his explainer videos dated 7 August, teacher and TikTok creator Mr Philip Lindsay said “the new meme that is trending, that kids aren’t saying quite yet but are starting to pick up on, is 41”.“It starts from a song by a rapper named Blizzy Boi and he says that he is 41 and he has 41 of everything ... and a creator Hooperville took this and has created the 41 hand movement,” said the teacher, who suggested it’s “the opposite of six-seven”.“Lots of people are saying it’s the new six-seven and it’s going to trend even more and even longer,” he continued. In his weekly update on words kids are using in class on 13 August, the teacher – who is based in the US – mentioned 41 is starting to “come to life” as six-seven dies down in popularity. So, it’s only a matter of time until it finds its way into your home.As for what it means, who knows? Like six-seven, which Mr Lindsay once referred to as “meaningless”, it’s probably going to be used in all kinds of contexts to the point of just being very annoying. And chances are you’ll come across a lot more of it in the coming weeks, especially as the kids head back to school. Good luck! Related...Kids Keep Saying 'Six-Seven' And Nobody Seems To Know What It MeansKids Keep Saying 'Chat' And It's (Probably) Not What You Think It MeansI'm A Podiatrist – These Are The Best Kids' School Shoes To Buy
