Line Of Duty Creator's New Netflix Thriller Just Cast This Oscar Winner – And We're Even More Excited

Line Of Duty's Vicky McClure, Adrian Dunbar and Martin CompstonThere were already plenty of reasons to get excited for Netflix’s upcoming drama Trinity.For one thing, it comes off the back of a massive run of successful British shows for the streaming giant, which has included the likes of Black Doves, Adolescence and Toxic Town.It’s also written and produced by Line Of Duty and Bodyguard creator Jed Mercurio, with his new show set to reunite him with Richard Madden, who stars alongside The Morning Show and Black Mirror star Gugu Mbathu-Raw.So far, so exciting, right? Well, get ready, because Netflix just confirmed an Oscar-winning star is also joining the cast.On Tuesday, it was announced that Marcia Gay Harden had also been cast in Trinity, playing Margaret Vandenburg, described as “the CEO and matriarch of the Vandenburg business empire” who has “been instrumental in her prominent family amassing significant political ties”.Icon, legend and diva Marcia Gay HardenFilming is only just underway on Trinity, but consider us sat anyway.Marcia won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the movie Pollock, but she’s perhaps best known for her work in the likes of The First Wives Club, Mona Lisa Smile, the Fifty Shades trilogy and The Morning Show, in which she plays gossip columnist Maggie Brener.Netflix’s synopsis for Trinity teases: “A heroic female naval officer becomes involved with the outwardly charismatic secretary of defence, only to discover he may be at the heart of a dangerous conspiracy.”Filming began earlier this week in Vancouver, and is due to wrap later this year.
