'Not Welcome': Protesters To Stage Anti-Vance Demo As US Vice-President Visits Cotswolds

JD Vance and foreign secretary David Lammy fish in a lake in the grounds of Chevening House in Kent last Friday.Protesters have branded JD Vance “a hideous moral vacuum” as they prepare to stage a demo against his visit to the UK for a family holiday.The US vice-president is visiting the Cotswolds with his wife and their three children.However, members of the Stop Trump Coalition will join with local residents on Tuesday to show their opposition to him being in the country.The protest will take place in the village of Charlbury, where a massive security operation has been put in place to protect Vance and his family.Vance arrived in the UK last week, and spent time with foreign secretary David Lammy at his grace-and-favour mansion at Chevening.The pair were pictured laughing and joking as they fished at a lake in its grounds.Stop Trump Coalition spokesperson Zoe Gardner said: “JD Vance is a hideous moral vacuum and the British public want nothing to do with him.“It is nauseating to watch ministers’ displays of fake friendship with this authoritarian, anti-democratic, genocide-enabling US regime.“We will be throwing a ‘Vance Not Welcome’ party – using our free speech to let him know he and his politics of hate are not welcome in the Cotswolds or any part of our country.”It will not be the first time that Vance has had a family holiday targeted by his political opponents.In March, hundreds of pro-Ukraine demonstrators greeted him as he arrived in Vermont for a ski trip.It was reported that the family had to move to an undisclosed location to get away from the protesters.Vance was also heckled last month when he and his family visited Disneyland in California.Related...Vance Claims Trump Broke A Major 'Logjam.'
