Reform's New Chairman Called Nigel Farage A 'Prejudiced Idiot' In An Unearthed Post

Nigel Farage and his new party chair David BullThe new chairman of Reform UK once called its party leader Nigel Farage “prejudiced” and an “unhelpful idiot” in an unearthed social media post. The embarrassing revelation came hours after Dr David Bull was announced as Zia Yusuf’s replacement on Tuesday. As first reported by The Daily Telegraph, Bull attacked then-UKIP leader Farage in 2014 after he claimed HIV-positive immigrants should not be permitted to come to the UK and receive NHS treatment.Farage claimed it was not a “global health service”, noting: “I do not think people with life-threatening diseases should be treated by our National Health Service, and that is an absolute essential condition for working out a proper immigration policy.’Posting on X (then known as Twitter) in 2014, Bull hit back: “Nigel Farage’s comments are ill-judged, prejudiced and dangerous. HIV can affect anyone regardless of sex, race and class.”He added: ”#idiot #unhelpful.”Bull, who trained as a doctor, also attacked Farage’s close friend Donald Trump for saying he wanted to repeal and replace Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act.He called Trump a “fool”, and described his inauguration speech in January 2017 as “awful”.Bull has been an ally to Farage for years, having taken on roles within Reform and its precursor, the Brexit Party. He served as the Brexit Party MEP for North West England between 2019 and 2020, before the UK officially left the EU.He was also Reform’s deputy leader between 2021 and 2023, and co-deputy leader with Ben Habib between 2023 and 2024.And Bull’s past attacks on Farage were evidently overlooked on Tuesday, as Yusuf announced his replacement in a press conference, claiming he was “hugely excited”.Yusuf said the party was “no longer a start-up”, and now has a chairman who is “an incredible communicator, someone who’s loved universally across the party”.Bull’s appointment as chairman follows Yusuf’s abrupt resignation from the party last week.He suddenly announced he was leaving after criticising a Reform MP for asking the government to “ban the burqa” last Thursday – only to rejoin 48 hours later. This time Yusuf will be working time solely as the leader of Elon-Musk inspired “UK DOGE”, the department of government efficiency.Reform UK declined to comment.Related...Zia Yusuf Says Reform Would Deport All Illegal Immigrants – But Nigel Farage Has Said That's 'Impossible'Kemi Badenoch Says Introducing Trump-Style Travel Ban Could Be 'Viable' For UK'You've Been Muscled Out': Nick Robinson Goads Zia Yusuf For Quitting As Reform Chairman
