'Shame On You': Farage Slammed Over 'Iranian Terrorists' Claim In Commons

Nigel Farage during the Commons debate.Nigel Farage has been condemned after claiming some asylum seekers coming to the UK on small boats could be “Iranian terrorists”.MPs shouted “shame on you” at the Reform UK leader as he spoke in the House of Commons.Farage was taking part in a debate on plans unveiled by Keir Starmer yesterday to slash the number of immigrants coming to Britain. He said: “The home secretary will be aware that five years ago I warned that if we didn’t leave the European Convention on Human Rights and immediately deport those who arrived in Dover via small boats, there would be an invasion. Sure enough, I was right.“Today, a further 600 young men have been processed through Dover, perhaps the odd Iranian terrorist among them—who knows.”At that point, Farage was interrupted by heckles from MPs, including former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, who was sitting behind him in the Commons chamber.Corbyn said: “How do you know? How do you know? How do you know that?”Farage went on: “Does the home secretary accept that the government’s policy of ‘smash the gangs’ is a complete and total failure? If that is the case, why should we believe anything else that they say?”The Reform UK leader appeared to be referring to the arrest last week of a 40-year-old Iranian asylum seeker in connection with an alleged plot to bomb the Israeli embassy in London.Labour’s plan to smash the gangs has been a complete failure.Over 35,000 migrants have crossed the English Channel since they came to power. pic.twitter.com/Xbg6QQkIcz— Nigel Farage MP (@Nigel_Farage) May 12, 2025Related...Starmer’s Farage Impression Won’t Save Him From Reform – But It Will Make Life Worse For Brits, MP WarnsNigel Farage Snaps At Journalist After Being Asked To Explain A Key Reform PolicyAnalysis: Keir Starmer's Credibility Problem On Immigration Means He Can't Out-Farage Farage
