Stephen King Has Choice Words For 'Horror Story' Donald Trump
Stephen KingIf anyone is qualified to comment on what makes a good horror story, it’s Stephen King – and he reckons the world is living through one right now thanks to Donald Trump. On Wednesday, The Guardian published a wide-ranging Q&A with the man behind classic books like The Shining, Carrie, It and Pet Sematary, during which he was asked, as an author, if he “had to invent an ending for Trumpian America, what would it be?”.He responded: “I think it would be impeachment – which, in my view, would be a good ending. I would love to see him retired, let’s put it that way.“The bad ending would be that he gets a third term and takes things over completely.”“It’s a horror story either way,” he then noted. “Trump is a horror story, isn’t he?”Donald Trump Throughout Trump’s political career, the horror writer has been one of his most vocal and prolific critics.Just last month, King had some choice words for the US leader in a post on X, writing: “Deep down in his heart, I believe Trump knows he’s an incompetent asshole.”Deep down in his heart, I believe Trump knows he’s an incompetent asshole.— Stephen King (@StephenKing) June 20, 2025Other recent posts from King have seen him describe Trump as an “idiot”, compare him to a “spoiled child” throwing a “tantrum”, and accuse him of “turning American democracy into an oligarchy”.King has also repeatedly taken aim at the president using the acronym TACO, which stands for “Trump always chickens out”.TACO: Trump Always Chickens Out.— Stephen King (@StephenKing) May 29, 2025It's TACO Tuesday! pic.twitter.com/PA4V2G26GU— Stephen King (@StephenKing) June 10, 2025This even sparked a response from the White House, with a spokesperson for the Trump administration telling Newsweek back in May: “Art is a reflection of the artist, and these asinine acronyms convey how unserious analysts have consistently beclowned themselves by mocking President Trump and his agenda that’ve already delivered multiple expectation-beating jobs and inflation reports, trillions in investment commitments, a historic UK trade agreement, and rising consumer confidence.”READ MORE:Emma Thompson Claims Donald Trump Asked Her Out On The Day Her Divorce Was Finalised And...
