Strictly Come Dancing 2025 Line-Up Rumours: Which Stars Are Reported To Be Competing?

Strictly Come Dancing 2025 Line-Up Rumours: Which Stars Are Reported To Be Competing?
The Strictly Come Dancing judging panelWe get it, we’re currently at the height of summer, so it might feel a little odd to already be looking ahead to Strictly Come Dancing, which so many of us associate with cosy winter nights in and the lead-up to Christmas. However, it’s worth remembering that Strictly runs for months at a time – and the line-up usually starts getting confirmed in August, meaning we’re likely just days away from the first announcement. In fact, rumours about which celebrities will be competing in the Strictly ballroom this year have already been swirling around, with everyone from the world of TV, music and even a few members of the aristocracy tipped to be taking part. With that in mind, here’s a quick guide to all of the celebrities who’ve been rumoured for Strictly Come Dancing 2025 so far...Sir Mo FarahThe Sun reported in June that Olympic legend Sir Mo Farah was near the top of producers’ wishlists.According to the tabloid’s “source”, bosses hoped that Sir Mo’s “national treasure” status can help the show move on from some of its more recent scandals. He was said at the time to be in a “very early” talks with BBC producers at the time.Angellica BellTowards the end of last year, the Daily Mail named children’s TV legend Angellica Bell as a potential Strictly contestant for 2025, based on certain bits of evidence that had been pieced together by fans on social media. Now, this was before she was announced to be on the second season of the rebooted Celebrity Big Brother in the spring – so when she popped up in the house, we assumed this meant those Strictly rumours were done. However, as recently as July, The Sun claimed that Strictly bosses had been impressed by Angellica’s energy in the CBB house, and were hoping to secure her for the dance floor later this year.Paul C BrunsonOriginally known as one of the professional matchmakers on Celebs Go Dating, Paul C Brunson has earned a whole new audience in recent history thanks to his YouTube interview series We Need To Talk, where he’s spoken to the likes of Katie Price, Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain, pop singer Yungblud and reality star Jojo Siwa, fresh from her CBB exit.Like Sir Mo Farah, The Sun reported in June that he was being eyed by Strictly’s casting team, citing a “source” who said the show saw him as “the ideal tonic to the dark clouds over Strictly as he’s clean-cut, very intelligent and has no scandals to worry about”.Vicky PattisonAfter gaining notoriety as an OG cast member on Geordie Shore, Vicky Pattison won over a whole new audience when she competed on I’m A Celebrity in 2015, going on to be crowned Queen of the Jungle.Since then, she’s carved a new career for herself as a TV presenter and, more recently, a campaigner, raising awareness of women’s health issues and the worrying rise of AI deepfakes. The Sun reported in July that Vicky had been “offered a deal” to join this year’s Strictly line-up, after supporting her friend and fellow reality star Pete Wicks during the 2024 series.Harry Aikines-Aryeetey (aka. Nitro)In addition to his Olympic sprinting career, Harry is known to Gladiators fans as his alter-ego “Nitro”.He was widely rumoured for last year’s series of Strictly, but his co-star Montell Douglas wound up on the show instead, although Harry did compete in the 2024 Christmas special, where he was partnered with Nancy Xu.After recovering from an injury acquired while training for Gladiators last year, which meant he couldn’t compete in the most recent series, The Sun claimed in June that he has now signed up for Strictly in 2025.Chris Robshaw One of the most recent rumours to do the rounds relating to this year’s Strictly line-up relates to rugby union star Chris Robshaw. At the end of July, The Sun claimed that he had entered “advanced talks” to get on his dancing shoes, pointing out that Nadiya Bychkova is the only member of the female professional team tall enough to dance with Chris, who stands at 6’2” tall.Balvinder SopalThe Strictly line-up also features at least one BBC soap star, and this year that honour would appear to be going to Balvinder Sopal.EastEnders viewers will recognise Balvinder for her performance as Suki Panesar-Unwin, a role she’s played since 2020, although she’s also appeared in Emmerdale, Coronation Street, Hollyoaks and even Doctors over the years. In early July, The Sun reported that Balvinder was close to signing up for the upcoming series of Strictly.Stefan Dennis While Balvinder is seemingly occupying the mandatory EastEnders slot, it looks like she won’t be the only soap alum on the line-up.The Sun claimed last month that Stefan Dennis – best known for his performance as Paul Robinson in the early years of Neighbours – had also signed a contract with Strictly Come Dancing for 2025.Dani DyerOne of the earliest stars rumoured to be competing on Strictly this year is former Love Island champion (and daughter of Danny Dyer) Dani Dyer, following in the footsteps of former Islanders Tasha Ghouri and Zara McDermott. At the end of May, The Sun claimed that Dani had agreed to take part, citing a “source” who claimed she and bosses were working on “ironing out her fee”.Jake BrownFresh from winning the gripping third season of The Traitors at the beginning of the year, The Sun claimed that Jake was being considered for a slot on the new Strictly line-up.However, the man himself appeared to cast doubt on this when he wrote on Instagram: “This is news to me… I do love a shimmy though!”Nadine CoyleAlright, we’d take this one with a pinch of salt, but a Strictly superfan on TikTok (@ShirleighShirlz) who’s previously proved reliable when it comes to rumours about the show named the former Girls Aloud star as a potential contestant for this year. The rumour steps from a recent Pride event where one celebrity guest apparently let slip that she would be competing on the next series of Strictly.Nadine Coyle was one of three famous women at the event, alongside former Mis-Teeq singer Sabrina Washington and pioneering reality star Ella Morgan.Stacey SolomonAfter initially shooting to fame on the sixth season of The X Factor, Stacey Solomon won over a legion of new fans when she competed on I’m A Celebrity in 2010, going on to be crowned its champion (and she and Vicky Pattison aren’t the only former winners on this list, either!).These days, she’s best known as a TV presenter and online influencer, especially with regard to family life, crafting and, indeed, tidying up.In April, The Sun claimed that the former Loose Women panellist had already been approached by Strictly bosses, having previously shared her love of the show.Tom Parker BowlesYes, you read that correctly. Tom Parker Bowles, son of Camilla, the Queen, is reportedly in the running to sign up for Strictly. The foodie and cookbook writer is the son of Camilla – an apparently Strictly fanatic – and her first husband Andrew Parker Bowles.Already a regular on MasterChef, The Mirror claimed in May that Tom may be expanding his reality TV repertoire.Tom was apparently approached last year about a Strictly spot, only for this not to come to fruition, so producers now have him at the “top of their wishlist”, the tabloid’s “Strictly source” claimed.Georgia ToffoloIn that same Mirror piece, it was reported that former Made In Chelsea cast member and I’m A Celebrity winner (the third on this round-up!) Georgia Toffolo could be making a reality TV comeback.Citing their “insiders”, the outlet claimed that Georgia was already “in talks” about a spot on this year’s line-up.Ashley CainOriginally known for playing football for clubs like Coventry City, Ashley Cain later embarked on a second career as a reality star with appearances on shows like Ex On The Beach and MTV’s The Challenge.Following the death of his eight-month-old daughter Azaylia in 2021, Ashley has become a charity campaigner and advocate for children’s cancer research, and earlier this year began presenting the BBC documentary Into The Danger Zone, which explored different issues affecting young men in different countries around the world.According to The Mirror, it’s this work that’s caught the eye of Strictly bosses, citing “insiders” who say he’s already on producers’ longlist of potential contestants, which will be whittled down from “around 30 names” to just 15 as the new series gets closer.Thomas SkinnerThomas Skinner first rose to prominence on the 15th season of The Apprentice in 2019.While he may not have impressed Alan Sugar, eventually becoming the ninth candidate to be fired, he did get a rare “keep in touch” from the entrepreneur on his way out the door – and he’s rumoured to be returning for the show’s upcoming celebrity special. On top of this, Thomas – who regularly makes appearances in debates for shows like Good Morning Britain, having also competed on Celebrity MasterChef – was reported by The Sun in March to have already signed up for Strictly this year.Craig RoweKnown for his appearances on shows like This Morning and A Place In The Sun, Craig Rowe hinted earlier this year that Strictly could be on the horizon for him.“We’ve spoken to Strictly and nothing’s happened yet, but talks are very much happening,” he told The Sun.Craig added: “I’d like nothing better than the training as well to put me through my paces.”Hmmm... we’re pretty sure those talks are supposed to be private, Craig... so maybe don’t go splashing out on dancing shoes just yet...MORE TV15 Unmissable New TV Shows, Films And Music Still To Come In 2025Critics Are Saying This BBC Reality Show Is A Must-Watch For The Traitors And Race Across The World FansHere's The Full Line-Up Of Stars Taking Part In The Landmark 20th Series Of Taskmaster
