Tom Hardy at the premiere of his new movie HavocTom Hardy has set the record straight about speculation he was once in the running to play Mr Darcy in the 2005 film adaptation of Pride & Prejudice.In fact, the Oscar nominee never even made it to the audition process, after receiving a rather blunt dismissal from one of the movie’s producers.During a recent interview with the Thin Blue Paw Foundation, Tom was asked about his rumoured Pride & Prejudice audition, to which he responded: “I didn’t actually get an audition.”Tom continued: “I was told categorically by a lovely producer that ‘all women have an image or a vision of what Mr Darcy looks like.
