President Donald Trump claims he never went to Jeffrey Epstein's notorious island.US President Donald Trump lashed out at a group of reporters pressing him about his prior relationship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Friday and attempted to deflect their attention to former president Bill Clinton.“You ought to be speaking about Bill Clinton, who went to the island 28 times,” Trump told reporters, referring to the notorious private island where Epstein ran an underage sex trafficking ring. “I never went to the island.”Trump’s claims, which he made just before jetting off to Scotland to play golf, come after weeks of being under fire by the public, especially his MAGA fanbase for failing to release more information regarding his former friend’s case.President Donald Trump claims he never went to Jeffrey Epstein's notorious island.In the wake of the scandal, multiple news outlets have resurfaced old photos, videos and documents that appear to show a deep friendship between the president and the disgraced financier. The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that Bondi informed Trump in May he was named multiple times in Epstein’s case documents. On Friday, Trump denied ever being briefed on his name appearing in the Epstein files.Another recent report from the Wall Street Journal described a racy birthday card Trump allegedly gave Epstein in 2003. According to the report, Trump wrote, “May every day be another wonderful secret.”The president denied he wrote the card, saying, “somebody could have written a letter and used my name, but that’s happened a lot.”Both Trump and Clinton’s names appeared on flight logs from Epstein’s private jets, as shown in evidence released in the case against Ghislaine Maxwell, a convicted sex trafficker and Epstein’s former associate.This week, Maxwell metwith Trump’s former criminal defence attorney and current Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. When asked whether he would pardon Maxwell, Trump stated that he was “allowed” to do it, but ultimately stated, “I don’t want to talk about that.” Upon landing in Scotland, Trump told reporters asking him about Epstein, “You’re making a very big thing over something that’s not a big thing.”“You ought to be speaking about [former US Secretary of the Treasury] Larry Summers. You ought to be speaking about some of uh, his friends that are hedge fund guys.
