UFC Will 'Definitely' Host A Fight At The White House, CEO Says

The UFC will host a fight at the White House next year, Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO Dana White confirmed Tuesday.“It is definitely going to happen,” White said on “CBS Mornings.”The mixed martial arts fight will take place on July 4, 2026, as part of a year-long celebration for the United States’ 250th birthday. President Donald Trump first teased the fight last month, saying he wanted an event at the White House with 25,000 spectators in attendance.“We’re gonna have a UFC fight, think of this, on the grounds of the White House,” Trump said last month. “We have a lot of land there, we’re gonna build a little ― we’re not, Dana’s gonna do it, Dana’s great, one of a kind.”White told “CBS Mornings” that at the end of the month, he’s going to start planning the event with the president.“July 4, 250th birthday of the United States of America, live on CBS from the White House,” White said, adding that Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, has been involved in the planning of the event. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.White first endorsed Trump for president at the 2016 Republican National Convention, calling Trump a “friend” and telling the crowd that the Trump Taj Mahal hotel and casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, hosted UFC events in the ’90s when other venues wouldn’t. And the UFC has welcomed Trump with open arms. A few months after Trump incited violence at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, he attended a UFC fight and was met with applause and cheers.
