'Too important to ignore': Join the resistance in ground-breaking Scottish exhibition
Resistance, Modern Two, Edinburgh. Review: The exhibition spaces of the National Galleries of Scotland are no stranger to hosting work by winners of the Turner Prize, the British art world’s most prestigious award. But it’s highly unusual to welcome a show by an artist who also has an Academy Award on their mantle-piece. In fact there is only one of that rare breed: Steve McQueen, who bagged the Best Picture Oscar in 2013 for 12 Years A Slave and won the Turner Prize 14 years earlier for a video work based on an old Buster Keaton stunt, beating off stiff competition from Tracey Emin’s now-notorious piece, My Bed.
