Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson at the premiere of Die, My Love last weekJennifer Lawrence has said she didn’t feel the need for an intimacy coordinator on her new movie because co-star Robert Pattinson isn’t “pervy”.The Oscar winner stars opposite Rob in the new drama Die, My Love – which is already picking up awards buzz – in which she plays a woman slowly who is losing her grip on reality as she’s left alone in an isolated house with her newborn baby.Speaking on the Las Culturistas podcast, Jen admitted she couldn’t remember if there was an intimacy coordinator on set when they were filming.“We did not have one or maybe we did, but we didn’t really [need one]… I felt really safe with him,” she explained. “He’s not pervy and he’s very in love with Suki [Waterhouse, his fiancée].”Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson in their new film Die, My LoveShe continued: “We mostly were talking about our kids and relationships so there wasn’t any weird, like, ‘Does he think I like him?’. If there was a little bit of that I would probably have an intimacy coordinator.“A lot of male actors get offended if you don’t want to fuck them, and then the punishment starts. But he was not like that, for the record.”Robert is engaged to singer and actor Suki Waterhouse, with the pair welcoming their first child in March 2024.Meanwhile, Jennifer is married to art gallery director Cooke Maroney and gave birth to their second child earlier this year.Intimacy coordinators act as a liaison between actors and a film or TV show’s production crew, helping to choreograph nudity or sex scenes and making sure those involved feel safe and that their boundaries are respected. They became commonplace on production sets in the wake of the Me Too movement, with actors like Kate Winslet and Jane Fonda saying they wished they had been prevalent earlier on in their careers.Dakota Johnson recently shared that having an intimacy coordinator on the set of her recent romcom Materialists was “really great”, pointing out that there hadn’t been one present whenshe and Jamie Dornan were shooting their sex scenes for the BDSM-themed Fifty Shades trilogy. However, not all actors share the same sentiment about intimacy coordinators.Gwyneth Paltrow has said they had the potential to be “stifling”, while both Toni Collette and Anora star Mikey Madison have turned down the offer to work with the experts on projects in the last few years.Die, My Love is in cinemas from Friday 7 November.MORE FILM NEWS:A Miss Piggy Movie Written By Cole Escola Is Reportedly In The Works And...
