The disappointing thing is that politics now seems to be for profit.“We maintained an idealism in the US which does not exist now. The news speaks for itself. I am worried, I am nervous. And I just think it’s about the responsibility not for someone else to look out for us but for us to look out for each other.”Elsewhere during the discussion, Michael spoke of why he’d made the decision to step back from acting now he’s in his 80s.“I have not worked since 2022 purposefully because I realised I had to stop. I had been working pretty hard for almost 60 years, and I did not want to be one of those people who dropped dead on the set,” he said. The Wall Street star added: “I have no real intentions of going back. I say I’m not retired because if something special came up, I’d go back, but otherwise, no.”He does still have one film in the pipeline, though, Looking Through Water, in which he will act alongside his son Cameron Douglas.READ MORE:Michael Douglas Reveals Why He's Chosen To Take A Step Back From ActingMichael Douglas Says He Desperately Wants His Marvel Character Killed OffMichael Douglas Recalls Embarrassing Case Of Mistaken Identity At Teenage Daughter's Graduation
