Reform UK Accuse Macron Of 'Outrageous And Deliberate Snub' For Not Meeting Nigel Farage

Richard Tice and Emmanuel MacronReform UK has accused Emmanuel Macron of an “outrageous and deliberate snub” because he has not arranged to meet Nigel Farage during this week’s state visit. The French president will be meeting Keir Starmer, Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch and Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey on Tuesday before a grand state banquet at Windsor Castle. The Tories have 121 MPs and are the official opposition, while the Lib Dems have 72 MPs, making them the third largest party in the Commons. However, Reform – who are back to just four MPs after one removed the whip from themselves over Covid loan allegations – is leading in the polls.Pollsters at YouGov estimate that if a general election were held now, Farage would be heading to Downing Street. In a furious statement last night, Reform’s deputy leader Richard Tice said: “This is an outrageous and deliberate snub.“Reform is polling higher than all of the other parties, and by denying Nigel a meeting with Macron, the Establishment is shutting its eyes to the lights of the Reform train that is coming.”The MP for Boston and Skegness even suggested the move was linked to Reform’s opposition to France’s management of the migrant crisis. He said: “If Macron was confident of his handling of the small boats issue, he would happily meet with Nigel.”Macron is expected to speak to Keir Starmer about how the French police could do more to stop small boat crossings at the Channel. The leaders may also discuss a new “one in one out” return scheme for asylum seekers during the French premier’s ’s three-day UK trip.Tice then doubled down on this message on Tuesday morning, telling LBC: “Nigel Farage is clearly very disappointed not to be given the same opportunity to meet president Macron that Kemi Badenoch and Ed Davey are given.“Because what the prime minister should be saying is what we’re saying which is, ‘Monsieur President, either you stop the migrant boats or we’ll stop your fishing boats’.”Tice’s remarks came as it was announced former Conservative cabinet minister David Jones had joined Reform UK.Jones is now the most senior former Tory MP to join the rival right-wing party.Related...Trump Hits Out At Emmanuel Macron's Explanation For Him Leaving G7 Summit EarlyMinister Rejects Macron's Claim That UK And France Want A One-Month Truce In Ukraine WarMinister Says Starmer Will Not Replicate Macron's Viral Moment With Trump
