Nicki Minaj Praises Trump For Speaking Out About Christians Being ‘Slaughtered’ In Nigeria
Nicki Minaj has thanked President Donald Trump for speaking out about the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. In an X post on Saturday, the rap superstar said Trump’s comments condemning the ongoing murder of Christians in the West African country gave her a “deep sense of gratitude.” “No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other,” she wrote alongside a screenshot of Trump’s comments. Minaj, who reportedly dedicated a performance of her 2014 tune “Anaconda” to Trump in the past, added, “Thank you to The President & his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer.” In an October 31 Truth Social post, Trump called the “mass slaughter” in Nigeria an “existential threat.” “Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria. Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter,” he wrote. Noting that the “United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening in Nigeria, and numerous other countries,” Trump added, “We stand ready, willing, and able to save our great Christian population around the world!”Rapper Nicki Minaj thanked President Donald Trump and his administration for speaking out about the ongoing massacre of Christians in Nigeria.Following the songwriter’s post, US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz thanked Minaj, born Onika Tanya Maraj, for “using your platform to speak out in defence of the Christians being persecuted in Nigeria.”“We cannot allow this to continue,” Waltz wrote in a Saturday X post. “Every brother and sister of Christ must band together and say, ‘Enough!’”Waltz went on to invite the musician to meet with him in the U.S. Embassy in New York to speak further about the matter. “I would love to speak with you in more depth about what our administration is doing to protect Christians’ freedoms all over the world,” he added, to which Minaj replied in a separate post she would be “honored” for the opportunity.  Meanwhile, in another Truth Social post, Trump threatened to withhold aid from the Nigerian government if it “continues to allow the killing of Christians.”He also told the U.S. Department of Defense to possibly prepare to go into the country “guns-a-blazing” to “completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.” “I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians! WARNING: THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT BETTER MOVE FAST!” he wrote.
