I've Struggled With Staying Organised For Decades. This Paper Tablet Changed Everything.
reMarkable Paper ProWe hope you love the products we recommend! All of them were independently selected by our editors. Just so you know, HuffPost UK may collect a share of sales or other compensation from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them. Oh, and FYI – prices are accurate and items in stock as of time of publication.Okay I’ll admit it – I am a nightmare when it comes to organisation. I do try my best to stay on top of all the endless thoughts buzzing around my brain and you’ll normally find me carrying around an unfinished notebook (or seven), a paper diary (because I just can’t commit to switching to my phone’s iCal) and, of course, my emotional support scraps of scribbled on paper. Why so many notebooks you ask? I like to keep elements of my life separate – I’m currently writing a book, helping run a national news website, planning a move and trying to juggle life in general. There’s nothing I hate more than trying to find the scrawled note of a plan for a catch up with a friend I’ve made in amongst other notes for my 9-5 – but unfortunately it makes for a less than streamlined workflow. And don’t get me started on when I misplace one of my many, many notebooks...Needless to say, this absolute binfire of a system isn’t working for me.However, after YEARS of this endless nonsense, I’ve actually found a solution thanks to a chance offer of a review. If you’d told me I’d happily digitise all of my notes I’d never have believed you (lest we forget that I refuse to use my iCal), but with my new reMarkable Paper Pro AKA the new love of my life, it’s all I do now. For the first time in my working life, I don’t feel overwhelmed with trying to stay organised. Yes, really.Dubbed the ‘most advanced paper tablet’ on the market, the reMarkable Paper Pro is essentially a writing tablet for reading documents and textbooks, sketching and note-taking that attempts to fully replicate paper writing.Unlike the slick, slippery glass of typical tablets, the display on Paper Pro has a special surface that mimics paper, so every pen stroke has just the right amount of resistance, making writing, doodling, or annotating documents feel totally natural. You can tag and sort notebooks easily.Albeit the tablet may not be as compact as an A5 notepad, my reMarkable contains all my to do lists, notebooks and diary in one place, which is a space saver my bag thanks me for. There are 100s of templates you can use for each individual project, as well as standard lined paper options and blank pages for scribbling. Everything can be tagged and organised into folders, making it easy to find everything (instead of wondering where the hell you left that post-it note in your kitchen). My reMarkable is absolutely everything I love about paper in a digital notebook and it gives me the tools I need at my fingertips – pens, fineliners, highlighters, pencils and even paintbrushes in a whole array of colours. I was a smelly gel pen girly and even in my 30s I love going overboard when it comes to highlighting and drawing on my notes – which I can do with the click of a button on my reMarkable. You can cut, copy, and resize content effortlessly and even convert your handwritten notes to typed text. If I didn’t manage to get something done on my to-do list, I can simply circle it, cut it and paste it onto the next day within seconds. Instead of scrambling through my bag looking for my paper diary, I can switch between my to-do list, my diary and whatever notebook I’m working on seamlessly.reMarkable also syncs with your Google drive, so I can sign docs on my reMarkable and the email those signed forms straight from the tablet itself – something which has been an utter god send while I’ve been filling out mortgage paperwork. You can easily annotate books, PDFs and sign documents. The best bit though? reMarkable is 100% distraction free – there are no notifications, pop-ups or apps. I have an attention span that is utterly non-existent and I often struggle on my laptop (especially when I’m meant to be focusing on just writing) as I have too much temptation to go and check emails. At this point, would it surprise any of you to find out I have inattentive ADHD?Pause for non-existent gasps of shock.I’ve always had issues with perfection paralysis as well – a blank page or imperfectly filled out notebook REALLY bothers me. With reMarkable however, I can only see the page in front of me and I’ve suddenly felt freed from having to create something entirely picture perfect from start to finish. The reMarkable boasts an impressive two weeks of battery power means I rarely think about charging it. With the reMarkable mobile and desktop apps, all of my work travels with me – so I can start a document on my reMarkable, open it on my laptop and type on it before later reading back on it on my phone. If you do want to be able to do a mix of typing and writing on your reMarkable, the Type Folio lets you use it as a more traditional tablet. I also no longer need to worry about borrowing my neighbour’s printer anymore for big projects – I can now instantly annotate and highlight any file, mixing the convenience of digital PDFs with the tactility of handwritten notes. The reMarkable Paper Pro is categorically my product of 2025 and it’s only August. Heck, it might even be my product of the last five years – my friends and family are sick to the back teeth of me banging on about it but truly, for someone like me who has issues staying organised and focused, it has utterly revolutionised the way I work.I hope you’re taking notes.Related...There'll Be No Losing Your Kids At The Park In These Bold, Bright CoatsGoing To Europe?
