Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink Speaks Out After Latest Shock Strictly Come Dancing Elimination

Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink paid homage to Prince with his American Smooth on the latest Strictly Come Dancing live showThis article contains spoilers for the latest Strictly Come Dancing elimination.Former footballer Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink has spoken out after losing out in this week’s dance-off.On Saturday night, Jimmy received mixed feedback from the judges for his and partner Lauren Oakley’s Icons Week routine to Prince’s Purple Rain, although the pair did still land a respectable score of 30 points out of 40, putting them in the top half of the leaderboard.Unfortunately, the former Chelsea player failed to secure enough votes from the public to keep him and Lauren out of the dance-off.Even more shockingly, they were in the bottom two with Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin, whose Cha Cha Cha routine earned them 33 points, putting them in joint second place on the night.When both couples danced again during Sunday night’s pre-recorded results show, the judges unanimously voted to save Amber, meaning Jimmy became the fourth celebrity to be eliminated.Lauren Oakley and Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink are the latest Strictly couple to leave the ballroomPosting on Instagram on Sunday night, he lamented: “My time on the show has come to an end, and while I left earlier than I’d hoped, I walk away proud of what I achieved.“In just a few weeks, I made my point- a footballer can dance, and it’s more than okay to put yourself out there.“Most importantly, I made my daughters proud. I showed them that stepping outside your comfort zone is worth it, and that hard work truly pays off.”Addressing Lauren, he continued: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your talent, patience and belief in me made this journey unforgettable. Dancing with you has been a privilege, and I’ll always be grateful for the way you lifted me up and helped me grow.”He concluded: “To the hidden heroes behind the scenes – hair, makeup, wardrobe/costume, the runners, the backstage and camera crew, you are the heartbeat of this show.“To everyone who’s supported and voted for us, THANK YOU.
