What's New To Watch On Netflix In September 2025? 11 Best TV Shows And Films
Here's what we'll be watching this month on NetflixThe summer months are now over… and taking a look outside the window right now, don’t we just know it?Fortunately, if there’s a lot of time spent indoors in our immediate future, we’re at least happy to report that there’s plenty to keep us entertained on Netflix as the darker nights start to draw in.Between star-studded dramas, gripping documentaries and the return of some of our favourite shows, here are the best Netflix originals to stream that are coming to the platform in the month ahead…Wednesday (Streaming now)Tell me more: After keeping fans waiting for almost three years between seasons, Netflix tried Wednesday fans’ patience just a little bit more last month, when the decision was made to split the new batch of episodes into two.Fortunately, viewers are now being rewarded, with Wednesday’s latest adventure giving us answers to that cliffhanger ending, bringing back some surprising old faces and finally revealing what that much-teased Lady Gaga cameo is all about.Netflix says: “Desperate to avert her prophecy and save Enid’s life, Wednesday reopens a dark chapter in her family’s history – with direct ties to Tyler.”Pokémon Concierge (Streaming now)Tell me more: And speaking of fans’ patience being rewarded, it’s now been almost two years since we last checked in (get it?) with Haru and Psyduck for Netflix’s most adorable original series ever, Pokémon Concierge. For those who’ve not seen it, the stop-motion animated series revolves around a burnt-out young woman who decides to take a career break and get a job at a beach resort specifically aimed at stressed-out Pokémon in need of a little break from it all.If all of that sounds absolutely heart-warmingly cute, that’s because, well, it is. Netflix says: “In the new episodes, Haru has grown a little and is no longer a newbie. She and her partner Psyduck welcome many new Pokémon to the resort, including Sealeo, Shinx, Luxray, Arcanine and Corphish. Haru spends fun and relaxing days surrounded by these guests, occasionally handling any problems that pop up.“One day, a guy named Kent appears, and he seems to be Haru’s ex-boyfriend. Why did he come to the resort? What will happen with his relationship with Haru? Plus, Tyler’s uncle Dan arrives at the resort with the Sealeo that has accompanied him for 15 years. Dan, who sometimes looks a little forlorn, is troubled by something…”Love Con Revenge (5 September)Tell me more: Remember the unbelievable story outlined in Netflix’s 2022 true crime doc The Tinder Swindler?Well, after sharing her story with the world, Love Con Revenge sees Cecilie Fjellhøy trying to help other victims of online scamming and catfishing “get genuine payback” in Love Con Revenge.Netflix says: “After falling victim to a sophisticated romance scam in The Tinder Swindler, Cecilie Fjellhøy partners with Private Investigator Brianne Joseph to help other victims reclaim their lives and expose digital predators in the provocative series, Love Con Revenge.”Aka Charlie Sheen (10 September)Tell me more: Undoubtedly one of the most notorious tabloid fixtures of the 21st century, Charlie Sheen lifts the lid on his turbulent life in the public eye – which has included allegations of abuse, multiple stints in rehab and controversy over many of his personal views – in his own words. As well as the Two And A Half Men star himself, Aka Charlie Sheen also features interviews with some of his nearest and dearest who have seen him through many of his public scandals.Netflix says: “Tabloid black hole Charlie Sheen knows what’s been said about him, and he’s finally ready to confess.“Directed by Andrew Renzi, Aka Charlie Sheen tracks his upbringing in Malibu to his effortless rise to megastardom – and dramatic fall, all within the public eye. With a stunning clarity earned through seven years of sobriety, Sheen openly speaks about the subjects and events he’s never discussed publicly before.“Through extraordinarily candid interviews with his family, friends, and cast members, including Denise Richards, Heidi Fleiss, Jon Cryer, Sean Penn, Ramon Estevez, Brooke Mueller, Chris Tucker, and his drug dealer Marco, the most outrageous moments of Sheen’s life are revisited with raw emotion and exceptional warmth, painting a portrait of a flawed man whose penchant for self-destruction is ultimately no match for the ferocious love and forgiveness he inspires in those closest to him.”Tyler Perry’s Beauty In Black (11 September)Tell me more: The soapy and scandalous Tyler Perry drama Beauty In Black is back for season two, with the Bellarie family having been turned on their heads by the dramatic events of the first series.Beauty In Black wasn’t exactly lauded by critics when it premiered last year, but for those who’ve stuck around for round two, you can expect even more jaw-dropping plot twists, icy misdeeds and unpredictable revelations.Netflix says: “There’s a new Bellarie in charge, but in this family, power isn’t given; it’s taken…. as she takes the reins of the Bellarie empire, Kimmie confronts a vicious family power struggle, where betrayal, greed and danger lurk at every turn.”The Wrong Paris (12 September)Tell me more: If you’re after one of those low-stakes rom-coms that have become one of Netflix’s staples, you should definitely check out The Wrong Paris.Miranda Cosgrave takes the lead as a young woman who tries out for a dating show expecting to be whisked off to the French capital, only to wind up just down the road in Paris, Texas.Netflix says: “She signed up for Paris, France. She got Paris, Texas. In this feel-good Netflix romantic comedy, Miranda Cosgrove plays an aspiring artist who joins a dating show hoping for a free trip to Paris, France, but ends up just a few miles from her hometown in Paris, Texas. What starts as a plan to get eliminated takes an unexpected turn when sparks fly with the bachelor.”Black Rabbit (18 September)Tell me more: Jude Law and Jason Bateman play a pair of brothers in this new crime drama, one of whom is the owner of a New York, and the other is a more chaotic force who threatens to upend everything he’s worked for.Netflix says: “Set against the backdrop of New York City’s high-pressure nightlife scene, Black Rabbit centers on two brothers who are pushed to the brink by their duty to family and their pursuit of success. Jake Friedken is the charismatic owner of Black Rabbit, a restaurant and VIP lounge, poised to become the hottest spot in New York. But when his brother, Vince, returns to the business unexpectedly, trouble soon follows; opening the door to old traumas and new dangers that threaten to bring down everything they’ve built.“Black Rabbit is a propulsive thrill ride and character examination about the way an unbreakable bond between two brothers can shatter their world and everything in its orbit.”Haunted Hotel (19 September)Tell me more: An apparent cross between Rick & Morty and Wednesday, Haunted Hotel is the latest addition to Netflix’s ever-growing catalogue of adult animation series that already includes the likes of Big Mouth, Bojack Horseman, Disenchantment and, more recently, Long Story Short. As the title suggests, Haunted Hotel centres around a young mother struggling with running her hotel, until some of the resident ghosts – including her late brother – begin chipping in with ideas.Netflix says: “A single mother of two struggles to run a haunted hotel with the help of her estranged brother, who is now one of the ghosts haunting the hotel and thinks the other ghosts have some pretty good ideas.”Alice In Borderland (25 September)Tell me more: Originally premiering in 2019, the Japanese series Alice In Borderland told the story of a group of young friends who find themselves in an alternate universe’s version of Tokyo, where they’re put through their paces in a variety of twisted “games” with increasing difficulty, with their lives on the line. Now the platform’s most-watched original from Japan, the new batch of episodes see Arisu and Usagi struggling to put their experiences behind them, only to discover that this isn’t as easy as they thought.Netflix says: “In the previous season, Arisu and Usagi cleared all of the games and returned to the real world. They have since gotten married and established a happy life together. Their memories of the borderland were erased, but they see glimpses of it in dreams and hallucinations.“One day, Usagi, led by afterlife researcher Ryuji, suddenly vanishes. At the same time as Usagi’s disappearance, Banda hands Arisu the final card: the Joker.“The uncharted journey led by the mysterious Joker card is about to unfold…”Wayward (25 September)Tell me more: From the mind of Feel Good creator Mae Martin, and featuring screen legend Toni Collette at her most menacing in another transformative role, Wayward centres around a facility for troubled teens, which is housing all kinds of secrets.Netflix says: “Nothing is what it seems in Tall Pines.
