Emma Thompson Claims Donald Trump Asked Her Out On The Day Her Divorce Was Finalised And... Wow

Emma Thompson in 2022Dame Emma Thompson has claimed that Donald Trump once tried to woo her, years before he became the president of the United States.The two-time Oscar winner and all-round national treasure recently gave a Q&A at the Locarno film festival in Switzerland, where Variety reported that she recalled getting a mysterious phone call in her trailer while on the set of the 1998 comedy Primary Colors.“A phone rang in my trailer, and it was Donald Trump,” Dame Emma explained. “I thought it was a joke. ‘Hi, it’s Donald Trump here’!“I said, ‘How can I help you?’ – I thought he needed directions. He said: ‘I would love for you to stay in one of my beautiful places, and maybe we could have dinner?’.”Donald TrumpDame Emma said she quickly realised the phone call had taken place on the same day her divorce from her first husband, Sir Kenneth Branagh, was finalised.“I bet he has people looking all over for suitable people he could take out, for all these nice divorcees,” she quipped. “I mean, he found the number of my trailer! That’s stalking!”The Love Actually star added: “I could have gone on a date with Donald Trump. I could have changed the course of American history!”Dame Emma was married to Sir Kenneth between 1989 and 1995.
