We’re going to celebrate 15 glorious years of it tonight. It’s the grand finale, and we had a great, great time making it, and it’s a great love letter to the fans.”Speaking to The Independent back in 2019, Hugh spoke out in defence of actors lending their voices to causes they believe in.“People in the entertainment industry aren’t allowed a voice,” he claimed. “If you say anything, it’s, ‘Shut up, you have got no right to say anything because you act in plays.’ Well, I’m also a flipping voter!“If I feel passionate about something, I don’t see why I shouldn’t be allowed to express it. I’m no less qualified than the next ranter, although I don’t rant.”Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale is the third and final movie spin-off of the hit ITV drama, reuniting Hugh with co-stars including Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Elizabeth McGovern and Jim Carter. The new movie is dedicated to the memory of Dame Maggie Smith, who died months after production was completed last year.READ MORE:Gal Gadot Clarifies Comments About Snow White Flopping At The Box Office And IsraelBrits Are Increasingly In Favour Of Palestine Statehood.
