Kenny Loggins Puts Donald Trump On Blast For Using His Song In That Sh**ty AI Video
Kenny Loggins and Donald TrumpAmerican singer Kenny Loggins has voiced his upset that Donald Trump recently used one of his signature hits to soundtrack a very controversial AI video.Last week, Kenny’s song Danger Zone was featured in an AI-generated video shared by Trump which sparked outrage as it depicted the US leader dumping excrement on Americans marching in protest at his policies. The 19-second clip, shared on Trump’s social media site Truth Social on Saturday night, shows the president flying a fighter jet and wearing a crown, as he targets those taking part in the “No Kings” marches that were widespread across America last week.Issuing a statement on Instagram on Monday night, Kenny said: “This is an unauthorised use of my performance of Danger Zone.“Nobody asked me for my permission, which I would have denied, and I request that my recording on this video is removed immediately.”The two-time Grammy winner then lamented: “I can’t imagine why anybody would want their music used or associated with something created with the sole purpose of dividing us.”Kenny added: “Too many people are trying to tear us apart, and we need to find new ways to come together.“We’re all Americans, and we’re all patriotic. There is no ‘us and them’ – that’s not who we are, nor is it what we should be. It’s all of us. We’re in this together, and it is my hope that we can embrace music as a way of celebrating and uniting each and every one of us.”Since beginning his political career around a decade ago, Trump has repeatedly faced criticism from artists for using their music in campaign videos and at his rallies without prior permission. In recent history, acts like Céline Dion, Neil Young, The Smiths’ Johnny Marr and the estate of Sinéad O’Connor have all publicly condemned Trump for his use of their music to promote his politics.READ MORE:18 Artists Who Have Hit Out At Donald Trump For Using Their SongsTim Curry Spills Cringey Moments With Donald And Ivana Trump During Home Alone 2Martin Sheen Says 'Big Guy' Donald Trump Has 'Got To Realise' This 1 Brutal Reality
