Wicked Unveils 'Celebrated Actor' Playing Cowardly Lion In Sequel

Wicked For Good's Cowardly LionWicked director Jon M Chu sparked an international guessing game last week, when he teased that one very A-list actor would be making a voice cameo in the movie musical’s sequel in the role of the Cowardly Lion.Although the Lion does not have any lines in the stage musical version of Wicked, Chu told Deadline in an interview published on Thursday that he’d lined up a very special “celebrated actor” to play the part in his new movie.Initially, the filmmaker teased that he’d be keeping schtum about the star’s identity until the Wicked For Good premiere, claiming: “Wait until the red carpet when the actor who gave us the Cowardly Lion’s voice steps foot on it. It’ll be wild.”However, in a video posted on the film’s official Instagram page on Monday night, the actor was revealed to be Colman Domingo.Surrounded by toy lions, the two-time Oscar winner teased: “See you in Oz!”View this post on InstagramA post shared by Wicked: For Good (@wickedmovie)Chu previously revealed that he’d reached out to Colman about the role over Instagram.“I was like, ‘It’s not a ton of lines, but maybe you have a little time. I know you’re busy.
