Labour Minister Accuses Nigel Farage Of Spouting 'Kremlin Talking Points' In Brutal Commons Blast
Stephen Doughty and Nigel Farage in the Commons.A Labour minister accused Nigel Farage of “using talking points right from the Kremlin” as the pair clashed over national security in the Commons.Stephen Doughty also reminded Farage that Reform UK’s former leader in Wales, Nathan Gill, has pleaded guilty to accepting bribes from Russia. The pair went head-to-head during a debate on the government’s controversial decision to hand the Chagos Islands over to Mauritius.Farage told MPs: “Mauritius will not honour the terms of this treaty. Mauritius is poor. It is on the verge of bankruptcy. It will be bought by Chinese money, and China is negotiating leases already.“If you want further proof of what will upset the American president, Huawei, which of course he railed against getting into the UK’s 5G system, is already installing its ‘safe city’ cameras all over Mauritius. None of this makes any sense.“I do wonder what the role of our National Security Adviser, Jonathan Powell, is in all of this.”But Foreign Office minister Doughty told him: ”’m surprised that the honourable gentleman has the gall to come here and talk about national security today when the former leader of his party in Wales admitted taking bribes from Russia, and when yet again he has been using talking points right from the Kremlin blaming NATO for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Absolutely shameful.”Watch Stephen Doughty tear Nigel Farage apart over Diego Garcia."I'm surprised he has the gall to come here & talk about national security... when Nathan Gill admitted taking brides from Russia & he's been using talking points from the Kremlin again... absolutely shameful.." pic.twitter.com/BddgEJuhc4— Haggis_UK 🇬🇧 🇪🇺 (@Haggis_UK) October 20, 2025In an interview with Bloomberg last week, Farage said “the endless eastward expansion of Nato and the European Union” had contributed to Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine in 2022.His remarks, in an interview with Bloomberg, echo comments he made in an interview with the BBC’s Nick Robinson before last year’s general election.Related...Nigel Farage Has Once Again Blamed The West For Putin's Invasion Of Ukraine'His Numbers Don't Add Up': Jeremy Clarkson Launches Furious Attack On Nigel FarageWith Labour And The Tories Turning Right, Is Nigel Farage Already Prime Minister In All But Name?
